Kirk Rivers is founder and CEO of Rivers Community Funeral Home, Inc. He is committed to serving all families with professionalism and service second to none. Kirk believes you should treat every family like you would expect your family to be treated.

Kirk is a proud Viking graduate of Elizabeth City State University, after graduation he continued his education at Fayetteville Tech Community College where he earned a funeral service degree.

Kirk is a member of Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church "The Mount" where his pastor is Bishop Kim W. Brown. He is member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Kirk loves to serve people, and has previously served four terms as Fourthward City Councilman of Elizabeth City.

Kirk met and married the love of his life Nina C. Griffin. He is blessed to have 2 sons Devin and Drew Spence, a loving mother Mrs. Myrtle Rivers and father Mr. Raymond Rivers by his side to support him in all of his ventures. He loves his 2 sisters, Donise Dillard and Nadine Lax and two brothers, Raymond Rivers, Jr and Keith Rivers

Politics, listening and talking about ways to improve the community thru economic empowerment are just a few of his hobbies.

Raymond R. Rivers Sr., a Licensed Funeral Director, has over fifty years of experience in the Funeral Profession.

Raymond was born in Camden, NJ and graduated from Camden High School. After completing two years as an Mortuary Science Apprentice at Davis Funeral Home in Elizabeth City, NC he attended and graduated from Eckels College of Embalming in Philadelphia, PA.

After receiving his Funeral Director's Licenses in 1958, Raymond was employed at the Davis Funeral Home and later at the Walson Funeral Home as Manager and Funeral Director.

R. Rivers has been married for 48 years to Myrtle Rivers and to this union they have 5 children; Raymond Jr., Esther Donise, Veronica Nadine, Keith and Kirk and 7 grandchildren.

In addition to spending considerable time as a Funeral Director, Raymond is employed as Exceutive Director for an affordable Housing Agency, volunteers as President of the County Branch of NAACP and a active member of the local AARP.

He, his wife and three children residing in Elizabeth City, are members of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev. Kevin McDonald is the Pastor and Raymond serves as a Deacon.

Raymond has always believed in trying to help others who are less fortunate then himself and are in need of help. He and his family are community oriented and involved in those activities which will enhance the equality of life for all persons.

Kevin A. Sanderlin has been a valued asset in the funeral industry for over 26 years.  A native of the West Munden section of Chesapeake, he is the son of Phillip (Juanita) Sanderlin and Hope Sanderlin.

Kevin is a graduate of Indian River High School. In 1996, he received an AAS Degree from John Tyler Community College in Chester, Virginia with a concentration in Funeral Services. Kevin received his formal training from Graves Funeral Home from 1995-2002.

Kevin became Manager/Funeral Director of the former P. G. Thomasson Funeral Services, Inc. in 2002, and later co-founded Beach Funeral Services in January of 2005. He serves as the chief owner and director of the business.

Kevin's civic affiliations include Virginia Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association and the board of Tidewater Funeral Directors Association. In addition, he is licensed in the states of Virginia and North Carolina.

He is a member of Saint James Missionary Church in Virginia Beach, VA, where Pastor Sidney L. Davis and co-pastor Barbara Davis presides.

Kevin is married to his loving wife, Dawna. They have three daughters, Sacoria, Amore and Kiersten and four sons, Tyler, Travion, Travious, and Neval.

Kevin looks forward to serving the Tidewater and North Carolina area with the utmost compassion as families deal with difficult times.
