Willie Edward Key entered eternal rest on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He was the son of the late McLoy Key and the late Ethel Jane Freshwater Key. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sons: Gurvis Massey, Lyman Eric Key and William Tony Key and one sister Johnetta Burrus.
Homegoing Service will be Tuesday, November 14, 2023, 12:00 noon at Holy Trinity Community Church, Elizabeth City, North Carolina with Bishop McLinton Freshwater officiating. Interment will be in the Westlawn Cemetery, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. A viewing/visitation will be Monday, November 13, 2023, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Those left to cherish his precious memories are his wife: Vivian of 44 years; sons, Steve Kee (Linda), Portsmouth, VA, Bryant Key (Effie), Chesterfield, VA and Jerald Patterson, Washington, DC; daughters, Robyn Key Camden, NC, Roslyn Miller, Somerset, NJ, Eulanda Crump, Virginia Beach, VA and Peggy Patterson, Middletown, NY; daughter-in-law, Sharon Key-Sutton (Calvin), Norfolk, VA; one sister, Elizabeth Key White, Allentown, PA., twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
