Wendy Karen McLean of Elizabeth City, NC entered eternal rest on December 29, 2022 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Rev. John Q. McLean and the late Esther Sessoms McLean. Along with her parents, she was proceeded in death by her sister Desiree M. Seymore and a nephew Jeremy J. Floyd.
Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, January 7, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon AME Zion Church in Elizabeth City, NC, Rev. Javan Leach, Pastor, and Rev. Ernest Cole, Eulogist. Interment will be in the Dove’s Landing Cemetery, Elizabeth City, NC. Visitation/viewing will be Friday, January 6, 2023, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Masks are still required for all services.
Wendy leaves to cherish her memory three loving and devoted children: Latasha, TyQuan and TyShawn McLean all of Elizabeth City, NC; two sisters: Valerie Floyd (Kenneth) of Suffolk, Va. and Dildra Lax of Marietta, GA; four brothers: Derrick McLean of Washington, DC; Terry McLean (Bessie) of Franklinton, NC and Donald and Gerald Fennell of Elizabeth City, NC; Fourteen Nieces and Nephews: Ronald Brown Jr., Shaquera Cunningham, Emanuel Basnight Jr, Monet Earle (William), Terry Basnight (Eundene), Derrick Basnight (Ashley), Terry Jr, Marcus and Isaiah McLean, Ashley and Larry Lax II; Twelve Great-Nieces and Nephews: RaDashia Majette, N’Dia Brown, Makayla Worley, Simone Joyner, Christian Palmer, Imani and Chris Earle, Braylon Basnight, Xavier, Jaiden and Ada Basnight and Jekiyah Floyd; and a host of other relatives and friends.
