Deaconess Virginia Belle Dance Walston entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Waterbrooke of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Henry Dance and the late Estelle Virginia Sylvester Dance and the wife of the late Joe Willie Walston, Jr. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two children, Alan Leon Walston and Jean Paulette Mullen; two grandchildren, Robert Steven Walston and DoRhonja Jackia Mullen; one brother, James Dance, Sr. and one sister Mary Elizabeth Barnes.
Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, January 5, 2024, 12:00 noon at St. James AME Zion Church, Elizabeth City, North Carolina with Rev. Ernest Cole, Pastor-Eulogist. Interment will be in the Dove’s Landing Cemetery, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. A viewing/visitation will be held 2 hours before the service.
Deaconess Walston leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Kevin E. Walston, Sr. (Michelle), Hampton, Virginia, and Daryl L. Walston (Joyce), Moyock, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
