Obie Brown, Jr.

“How do I say goodbye to what we had? The good times that made us laugh outweigh the bad.
I thought we’d get to see forever, but forever’s gone away, it’s so hard to say goodbye to
yesterday.”

Obie Brown, Jr. entered eternal rest on January 23, 2023 at Sentara Albemarle Hospital in
Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Obie Brown Sr. and the late Shirley Brown and
the husband of Linda Simpson Brown.
Celebration of Life Services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2023, 12:00 noon at Beach River,
Funeral Home Chapel, Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Elder Orvin Simpson, Eulogist. Family
viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, North Carolina. Masks are required
for all services.
In addition to his wife, Obie leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Cornelia Brown and
one son, Obie Brown, III both of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; two sisters: Tina Overton and
Bessie Brown both of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
