Norma Banks ("Mumpsey") Williams

Mrs. Norma Banks Williams (Mumpsey) entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Sentara Princess Ann Hospital, Virginia Beach, Virginia.  She was the daughter of the late George Henry Banks and the late Senie O. Harvey Banks and the wife of the late George Lee Williams. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Edith O. Bell, Dorothy Gayle Banks, Maggie Annette Bailey, Senie Louise Everette, Ethel Banks Blackmon, Carrie McClease, George Henry Banks, Jr., and Larry Darnell Banks.

Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, December 10, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Powells Point, North Carolina with Rev. James McCoy, Pastor/Eulogist and Rev. Dr. Ricky L. Banks, Officiating.    Interment will be in the Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.  A viewing/visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 5 – 6 p.m. and a wake service from 6 -7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.  

Norma leave to cherish her memories three daughters, Patricia Shannon (Eric), Grandy, North Carolina, Juilet Reid (Thomas), Seaford, Delaware and Beatrice Banks, Brooklyn, New York; God-daughter, Margaret Jones, Texas; six grandchildren, Darrick Banks, Keish Banks Morrison, and  Anthony Banks, all of Brooklyn, New York, George William and Jay William, Seaford, Delaware, and Kyle Shannon (Care-giver), Grandy, North Carolina, one grand God- daughter, Jiya Lindsay, Hertford, North Carolina; sixteen great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Jean Banks, Cordelia Riddick (John), Melva Banks, and Phyllis Brown; one brother, John Timothy Banks; one sister-in-law, Louise Williams; one brother-in-law, Leroy McClease; special friends (sisters) Anne Barnes and Becky Seymore; friends, Juanita Bailey, Minnie June Seymore, Delana Barkley, Joyce Owens, Ernestine Brisbon and Erniece Ferebee; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends

The family will be receiving guest at the residence of her daughter Patricia Shannon, 130 Uncle Graham Rd, Grandy, North Carolina.
