Deaconess Mary Elizabeth Spence Skinner of Barco, North Carolina entered eternal rest on March 9, 2023, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late William Harris and the late Isadora Spence and the widow of the late Nathan Skinner. She was also predeceased by one granddaughter, Bria Dejanae Kelly.
Celebration of Life Services will be Sunday, March 19, 2023, 3:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Community Church, Elizabeth City, North Carolina with the Rev. Anita Hurdle as Eulogist. Interment will be Monday, March 20, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Westlawn Cemetery, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Visitation/viewing will be Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Beach River Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Masks are still required for all services.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory one daughter: Marchella D. Skinner, Barco, North Carolina; two special grandchildren that she raised: Latoya Skinner White (Derrick), Barco, North Carolina and Miquila A. Skinner (Katherine), Popular Branch, North Carolina; one special great-great grandson, Jailen (Buggy) Stokley, Barco, North Carolina; eleven great-grandchildren; eleven great great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
