Martha Alzoria Banks entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Down State Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Mark Alexander Banks, Sr. and the late Sarah Doris Riddick Banks. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her son Galvin Walker; maternal grandparents, James (Jimbo) Riddick and Martha Boyd Riddick; paternal grandparents, James Banks and Classie Banks; brothers, Mark Banks, Jr., Walter James Banks, and Floyd Ray Banks; and sisters Classie Banks Brown and Kim Diane Banks.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, January, 6, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Powells Point, North Carolina with Rev. James McCoy, Pastor/Eulogist and Elder T. J. Etheridge, Officiating. Interment will be immediately after the service in the Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. A viewing/visitation will be Friday, January, 5, 2024 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Martha is survived by two sons: Shea Walker (Nikki) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Randy Williams of Brooklyn, NY.; one grandson, Tyler Liboro of Reston, VA.; siblings, Sarah Banks and Jean Simmons (Delton) of Powells Point, NC, Dorothy Banks of Bronx, NY, Curtis Banks of Clinton, MD, Chazz Banks of New Orleans, LA, Lester Banks (Becky) of Willingboro, NJ and Shirley Banks of Alexandria, VA; nephew Kelvin Banks (Deitra) of Cope, SC; family adopted brother, John Johnson of Clinton, MD; one uncle, James E. Riddick, Jr. of Powells Point, NC; a close friend, Sue Barnard-White, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends in New York, North Carolina and Baltimore, MD.
