Lizzie M Walker Brumsey

Lizzie M. Walker Brumsey entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Johnnie Walker and the late Mary Elizabeth Overton Walker.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her two husbands; one son, Chris Hicks; four sisters, Shirley Williams, Mable Rattler, Thelma Dunston, and Ruth B. Dodson, and four brothers, James, William (Joe), Leroy, and Collis Walker.

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children:  Gloria Sawyer (Ervin), Roosevelt Hicks (Jackie), James Hicks, Cindy Dozier, Timothy Hicks (Della), Lynn Hicks (Renicca), and Corey Brumsey (Shondae); one brother, Lewis Walker (Barbara); one sister-in-law, Else Walker, and a host of grand and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, November 28, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Beach River Funeral Home Chapel, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  A Viewing/visitation will be 1 hour prior to the start of service.
