Mrs. Linda Virginia Spellman Gallop entered eternal rest on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Earl Leon Spellman and the late Alice Woodhouse Spellman.
Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, January 27, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Shawboro, North Carolina with Rev. Tyrone Smith, Pastor/Eulogist. Interment will be in the New Providence Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. A viewing/visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A FINAL viewing will be 1 hour prior to the start of service.
Linda leaves to cherish her precious memories: two children, Richard McCoy Gallop, Jr., and Valerie D. Gallop Owens; five grandchildren, Tyrell Gallop, DeQuan Gallop, Jasmine Williams, Charles Williams, IV, and Clarissia William; three great-grandchildren, Hank Johnson Jr., Mailee Gallop and Amara Johnson; seven sisters, Shirley Cherry, Erline Jones, Clementine Cone (Charles), Patricia Land (Nathaniel), Annette Slade (Kelvin), Alice Sylestine Blalock, and Karen Riddick (James); two brothers, Elder George L. Spellman (Sharon) and William Spellman; 1 adopted son, Roosevelt Turner (LaShanda); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her special lifelong friends, Shirley Dunton, Kenneth Barnard, and John Abbott.
